Child Development

Across India, millions of children are abandoned or belong to underprivileged families. Many lose one or both parents and are left without proper care. To address this, SWAP Trust runs a Child Care Institution at Paruvakkudi Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tenkasi District.

We provide children with shelter, nutritious food, education, medical care, and clothing under the supervision of trained residential staff. Additionally, our Family-Based Child Care System supports children from single-parent or extremely poor families with dry rations, vegetables, pocket money, and school supplies to ensure they continue their education without hunger or hardship.

Women Development

Women are central to family and community well-being. Our NGO empowers women from poor households by offering free tailoring training. Each year, around 30 women are trained in dressmaking and later provided with sewing machines at no cost. This initiative helps them secure employment or start self-employment to support their families.

We also run income-generation projects for widows by distributing goats, providing monthly rice supplies, and gifting sarees annually. These small interventions create lasting impacts on household stability and women’s independence.

Safe Drinking Water & WASH Projects

Many rural communities still lack access to clean and safe drinking water, forcing people to depend on contaminated sources that cause diseases like cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid. Our NGO addresses this by installing borewells, hand pumps, and motorized pumps in villages.

We also implement Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects in schools, equipping them with borewells, water tanks, and filters. Alongside infrastructure, we promote healthy habits like handwashing before meals and after using toilets, ensuring children grow up healthier and disease-free.

Educational Development

Education is at the heart of our Charitable Trust’s mission. We operate 14 free evening tuition centers in Sankarankovil Taluk, helping over 300 children with academic support after school hours. Local graduate teachers guide students in completing schoolwork, improving reading, handwriting, and overall performance.

Children also receive snacks, hygienic supplies, and encouragement to participate in sports and cultural events. These centers significantly reduce school dropouts and child labor. Many students who attended our programs have gone on to pursue higher and professional education, with scholarships provided to deserving candidates.

Health Care

At SWAP Trust, we believe “Health is Wealth.” We conduct medical camps for children and communities and extend financial help to the underprivileged during hospitalizations.

In alignment with the Government of India’s vision to eliminate TB by 2030, our Charitable Trust collaborates with the Department of Public Health to distribute protein-rich supplements to TB patients. For this work, we were honored as Nikshay Mitra by the District Collector. These efforts accelerate recovery and provide crucial support to highly vulnerable patients.
